Welcome to my world of photography!
Hi there! My name is Theresa Forgues-Couture, and I embarked on this incredible journey in 2021. It all began as a way to challenge myself and keep my mind active during a difficult time. Little did I know that this new photography hobby would become a source of inspiration, joy, and a deep passion in my life.
Living near a beautiful conservation wetland has been a true blessing. It provided me with countless opportunities to hone my photography skills. I started by capturing the sweet songbirds that visit my backyard. One pivotal day, a great blue heron swooped in to pay me a visit, and I managed to capture that breathtaking moment. Although the images are not portfolio worthy, from that day forward, I was completely hooked on photography.
What sets my photography journey apart is the unique perspective I bring to it. You see, I shoot from a wheelchair, which comes with its own set of challenges. But I embraced those challenges and adapted, learning as I went along, often diving deep into the well of knowledge on YouTube . What I discovered was that not everyone approaches photography the way I do. Most photographers can hike and travel, adjusting their bodies to find that perfect angle. For me, it’s a different story, and that’s okay. Those challenges have made me more patient, helped me see the world through a different lens, and encouraged me to creatively edit my images.
As you explore my art, I invite you to become a part of the scene, to feel a connection, and to experience the emotions it evokes. After all, that’s what great art is all about – creating a meaningful connection with the viewer. Thank you for taking the time to visit and share in my photographic journey.
